One of the most important roles to make this event a success is our fantastic Flavor Captains (previously Cocktail Captains). Being a Flavor Captain is easy and fun — all you have to do is bring your crew! Your friends, families, co-workers, comrades will love to join you at this event to eat delicious food, mingle and laugh with new friends, and be inspired by FEEST youth leaders. We’ll provide you with all the materials you need, and you’ll get to share your passion for youth organizing and food justice with your community.
A Flavor Captain is friend of FEEST who agrees to bring 8 friends (including yourself) to the party. You can either buy all 8 tickets for $600 ($75/person) and encourage them to donate that evening or just recruit 7 folks to grab their own ticket and join you at the event, it's up to you! In return, you’ll not only have our undying love, your name will be printed in the program, you will automatically be entered into the raffle basket of your choice, and we'll have a special surprise just for Flavor Captains that evening.
Invite your friends, family, neighbors, and coworkers to join you at the event. Your goal will be to invite folks who will connect to FEEST’s youth-led vision for healthy schools and communities. We need your help in reaching our fundraising goal of $60,000 for the event. But don't worry! We will provide you with everything you need to get the party started: invitations, tools, and all the enticing details to inspire people to come.
The event will take place on Friday, Nov. 15nd at 6:30pm at Washington Hall (153 14th Ave, Seattle, WA 98122). The evening will include delicious food and drinks from some of our local faves, inspiring stories from FEEST youth leaders, a raffle with some pretty sweet prizes, and music and dancing throughout the night. You and your guests won’t wanna miss it!
Rather than the traditional large reserved tables, the event will have smaller cocktail tables (with stools or chairs) available for everyone. We encourage folks to explore the whole venue and make new friends.
FEEST is committed to ensuring that Fresh Flavor is accessible to anyone who wants to join. If you have guests who need seats for the night, please email Leigh (firstname.lastname@example.org) to be sure we reserve seats or a small cocktail table. We are happy to make additional accommodations as needed.
FEEST is an organization led by youth of color in South Seattle and South King County working to improve health in our schools. Youth leaders celebrate food and culture at community dinners and build power to win policy changes that increase food access for all students.
Focusing on the need for more healthy, affordable, and culturally relevant food at school, FEEST centers young people as leaders toward concrete changes in our food systems.
FEEST’s work is grounded by love for our communities, pride in our cultures, celebration of our best selves.
